But I couldn't think of anything. I have been working on this project for about two weeks. I bought these wooden plaques at Hobby Lobby for $1.47 each. I also bought the hardware for the back to hang them on the wall. I tried many times to nail them in but I failed miserably so to the Gorilla Glue I went. It was my first time using it and it stuck really well. I needed something to hold the hardware in place and this is what I had to resort to.
Then I painted the plaques in Burnt Umber acrylic paint. LOVE this color. It matches perfectly with Cohen's room decor. I also mod podged ribbon around the edges, applied my vinyl from Shelley at wonderfully wordy and then we did the hand and foot prints.
This is how it turned out.
I love the foot prints. The hand prints are smudged because Co does not ever keep his hands open for more than enough time to pick something up and stick it in his mouth. Which he tried to do with the paint. He got paint in his nose, on his chin, on his legs, and then Jerimy put him in the tub (thank goodness). I'm very happy to be finished with this project. I can't wait to finish the shelf that these will go on in his room.
