We had a flood in our apartment today. It's all Jerimy's fault. I know it was an accident, but I'm still really mad. He dropped his stupid piece of junk that he doesn't need and never even uses and should have sold/thrown away years ago and then this whole mess would have never happened old skateboard on the valve of the water heater and it flew off, causing the whole 40 gallon water heater to spray/pour into our hallway, Cohen's room, and part of our bedroom. The maintenance man made an emergency call (obviously) to our apartment and turned off the main water to our entire building so it would stop flooding. They had to rip up the carpet, take out the padding so it could dry and wouldn't mold, and brought in huge industrial fans that have to stay on for the next few days. All the furniture was moved out of the baby's room except for his crib, because it wouldn't fit through the doorway. I can't even shut the door because of the fan.
I'm so upset. I know there is nothing we can do about it now but I'm still so angry. Why did it have to be such a huge, costly mistake? It's going to take our whole entire $1000 emergency fund to cover the repair costs. Oh yeah, it flooded so much it leaked into the storage room in the apartment below ours, so we have to pay for the repair cost of that too. I don't even know what to think. Cohen can't sleep in his room, and we can't get his bed out. I guess I can try to get his pack n play in our room and hopefully he will sleep in that. I just wish this wouldn't have happened, but then again what good will that do? I'm so sad. I know this is the whole reason we have an emergency fund, and thank goodness for it, but that's SO SO SO MUCH MONEY.
The worst part about it is that Jerimy is acting like it's no big deal. He actually said, "It's ONLY gonna cost about $1000 to fix everything." SERIOUSLY??!!! I MEAN REALLY, right now, are you acting like $1000 is no big deal? Acting like $1000 is not a lot of money??!!! Do you live in a dream world where money grows on trees and we can pull $1000 out of our back pockets like it's no big deal?
UUUGGGGHHHHH I'M SO ANGRY.
At least it's not this bad.
